One of the most impressive services ever witnessed in Roanoke on a similar occasion was held at the First Methodist church, this city, at 11 a. m. Sunday, the auditorium being filled with those who loved and appreciated this good man. With a background of white arid green, previously prepared for a Christmas service and a wedding to follow, the casket rested before the altar of the church which the departed loved so well in life and to which he gave such devoted service. His fellow stewards were honorary pall bearers. The choir sang old hymns which he loved to sing, and the pastor, Rev. Hugh H. Ellis, paid feeling tribute to his memory. Interment followed in the city cemetery.
Surviving are the devoted companion, a son, Wm. F. Danielly, and a daughter, Mrs. Whit S. Lane, of Roanoke; another daughter, Mrs. A. C. Findley, of Jackson, Ga.; several grandchildren, and numerous relatives.
Mr. Danielly spent a large part of his life in the northern section of Chambers county, moving later to LaFayette, then coming to Roanoke about 12 years ago. In the passing away of this genial gentleman and upright citizen many hearts are made to mourn, and many tributes of love and admiration are paid to the memory of the deceased. He had lived the life of the righteous, and came to the end in peace, honored by all who knew him, and leaving behind him an example that will be a beacon light to those who follow on.
