Stella G. Smith, 93, a longtime resident of Paso Robles, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 1996, at a local convalescent hospital.
Viewing will take place Tuesday [Jan. 30, 1996] from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Kuehl-Nicolay Chapel in Paso Robles. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. at San Miguel Cemetery. The Rev. James Henry of St. Rose Catholic Church will officiate.
Mrs. Smith was born Nov. 28, 1902, in Gonzales. She had lived in Paso Robles for 85 years.
As a young girl, Mrs. Smith and her brothers and sisters worked in Shandon for Cordelia and Walter Knott, who eventually built Knott's Berry Farm. She loved crocheting and was an avid gardener. She also was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church.
Mrs. Smith is survived by three daughters, Patricia Tidd, Lois Bryant and Marguerite Hall, all of Paso Robles; a son, Kenneth Smith of Magalia; a sister, Inez Hall of San Jose; a sister Irene Hall of Citrus Heights; a sister Annabelle Horne of Roseville; a brother Edward Biscarro of Sonoma; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1371 Pacific St., San Luis Obispo, CA 939401 or to the American Diabetic Association, 321 N. Aviador, Suite 113, Camarillo, CA 93010."
