Fontelle Joy Meadows, 80, of 305 N. Fourth St., died at 6 p.m. June 25, 2009, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.

She was born April 13, 1929, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Neal W. and Carrie Albright Hardy. She married Bruce E. Meadows July 28, 1974.

A resident of Ottumwa until 1976 when she moved to Eddyville, she worked at Area 15 Media Center from 1967 to 1978. She was a member of NARVE.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Thomas E. (Dawn) Lee of Wichita, Kan., and Randy D. (Sharon) Leedom of Eddyville; three daughters, Kathi (Jim) Sullivan of Indianola, Molly J. (Michael) Grace of Oskaloosa and Karol (Bevan Hol) Shaw of Eddyville; a stepdaughter, Monica J. Murray of Ottumwa; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a brother, Duane E. (Lottie) Hardy of Augusta, Ga.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Duane Stice; a grandson; her parents; two sisters, Bertha Kellogg and Norene Riley; and two brothers, Gerald and Leon Hardy.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Sneller officiating.
