Alice Hayes, 90, died Wednesday with family at her side. Alice grew up in Frankfurt, NY and graduated from the Utica School of Commerce. She worked as a secretary for Blessed Sacrament Church for 25 years. Alice was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, despite all their Super Bowl losses, and rarely missed a game even if it meant listening to untelevised games on the radio. Sundays were also a time for family as her daughters gathered at her apartment every week to spend time together. Playing the slots at the Turning Stone Casino was another favorite pastime for Alice, who often found it hard to even break for lunch. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. William J. Hayes; daughters, Genie Ryan and MaryAnn Hayes; and grandson, Bryan Honold. She is survived by daughters, Patricia (Al) Highducheck, Barbara Honold, Kathy (Bill) Fisher, Deb (Rich) Lerro and Ann McAdam, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services are Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours are Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 3111 James Street. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
