Funeral services for Richard Beck, 72, of Niantic,who died Sunday in a Jacksonville hospital following a stroke will be Tuesday in the Moran's with burial in Harristown cemetery. He was a member of the Niantic Christian church.
He was a native of Illinois and was born Sept 25, 1865 and married Dorinda C.Dotson, who died in 1930. He came to Niantic in a covered wagon and farmed north of Harristown for 28 years.
He leaves two sons, Earl and Ross, both of Decatur, three daughters, Mrs.Reava Gaas, Pawnee,Mrs.Ruth David,Chicago and Mrs. Pearl Bernard,Decatur, four brothers, Alva, Walter, John, and Bruce Beck, five sisters, Ellen Clem, Minerva Treft, Mrs. Neville, Mrs.Mary Gilbert, Mrs.Ceora Wree, nine grandchildren and four great-granddaughters.
