Joseph "Joe" Edward Barnes was the son of the late Joseph Noel Barnes and Mary Magdalene Kelly Barnes and he married Vonice Raulerson Barnes. He was a member of Summerhill Baptist Church, worked at Sunnyland for 21 years, Balfour Lumber for 14 years as a deliveryman and enjoyed woodworking, bluegrass music and gardening. Other family include sons and, Edward, Thomas, Luann, Rick and David Barnes; daughters, HelenBrogdon, Susan Sherrod, Phyllis Young and Becky and McDonald; brothers, Ira & Marvin Barnes; sisters, Bonnie Barnes and Mary Rhodes; grandchildren, Stephanie and Todd Jones, Heather and Shannon Parker, Vonice and Robert Collier, Jenny and Robert Dees, Michele Barnes, Phillip Hackle, Melissa and Chris Bozeman, Chris and Jennifer Barnes, Lee and Monica Dyess, Danyelle, Patrick and Tara Barnes, Dwight and Lisa Sherrod, Leslie and Chris Wilferd, Joe Brady, and Pete Webster.
