HELEN AITKEN
Helen M. Aitken, 87, Lake City, died Oct 2, 1991 at the Pine Island Care Center. Mrs. Aitken, the former Helen Schumann, was born March 19, 1904, in Gilford Township to Frederick and Katherine Schumann. She was married to Wallace Aitken on Sept. 26, 1923, in Gilford Township, and they later moved to Lake City. He preceded her in death October 15, 1986.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Lois) Haglund of Pine Island, Arlene Clare of Lake City, Joyce Baringer of Ingleside, IL and Ruth Mitchell of Red Wing; 15 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and three sisters, Leona Schumann of Lake City, Lucy Wiebusch of St. Paul and Luella Baumgartner of Austin, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City with Pastor Donald Schoewe officiating. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery in Lake City. The Peterson-Mahn Funeral Home of Lake City was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Donald and Michael Aitken, Robbi and Russell Haglund, Joshua Kundert and David Mitchell.
