He married Ethel Hill on August 22, 1926, in Oneonta, Alabama. They had seven children; Hoyt Eugene Adams, Mavis Geraldine Adams, Marvin Amos Adams, Billy Adams, Barbara Adams, Lynn Adams, and Jimmy Adams.
He was a die caster. He was a member of Hopewell Primitive Baptist Church. Sometime after 1940 Aldie and his family moved to Conneaut, Ashtabula, Ohio.
Aldie died at age 73, June 26, 1981, following an extended illness. He was living in Conneaut, Ohio at the time of his death.
