Douglass Wyman Reeder Jr. age 75, passed away May 6, 1996, in Blaine. He moved to Blaine three days prior to his death to be closer to his family.

Mr. Reeder was born June 23, 1920 in Easton, PA to Douglass and Ruth Lashels Reeder Sr.

He served more than 20 years in the US Navy including World War II and the Korean War. He was later a Disability Insurance Officer for the State of California and retired after 20 years.

A 40-year Stockton, CA resident, he was a member of the Episcopal Church, Fleet Reserve Association, American Legion, VFW, Moose Lodge, Tracy, CA Elks and was affiliated with many jazz groups for more than 25 years.

He is survived by his two sons, Neil and his wife Sandra Reeder of British Columbia and Douglass Reeder III of Blaine, two daughters, Peggy Hooley, and Susan and husband Benny Bennett of Blaine; one daughter-in-law, Evelyn Reeder of Ferndale; one sister, Ruth McKeen of Florida; 13 grandchildren.

A funeral service, officiated by Father Peter Maupin, will be held 2 pm Monday, May 13, 1996, in the Jerns McKinney Funeral Chapel followed by burial in the Enterprise Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Sister Mary Pia Cancer Center, St. Joseph's Medical Center, Stockton, CA. Visitation will be 2 pm to 4 pm Sunday in the Jerns McKinney Funeral Chapel. Arrangements by Jerns McKinney Funeral Chapel of Blaine.
