MOTHER AND SON INFLUENZA VICTIMS

A particularly sad breaking up of a home is recorded by the double death lo the family of Frank N. McDermid, a pioneer resident residing two miles west of Cashmere. The death of Mrs. McDermid followed Thursday morning that of her little fourteen old son, Clayton McDermid, which occurred the night before. Influenza with attendant complications was the cause of both deaths. Both Mrs McDermid and her son were among the first in the valley to get the contagion. They were reported as recovering nicely when a relapse occurred.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been made and will not be announced until word has been received from relatives in Nebraska. Mrs. McDermid was born in Kentucky in 1881 and the little boy was born in Nebraska in 1906. Surviving are Mr. McDermid and a little daughter.
