B 1752, England; bur probably on his farm or near his son in an unmarked grave, at Crosstown, O - Sterling Twp, Brown Co. Enl at Amboy, N J 1777 as Pvt, N J Contl; served six years, etc. Appl for pension in Clermont Co, O 6-5-1818; received pens 1819; Ref: S 42669 N J, Brown Co, O. W H Beer's Hist, 1883, p 683, states: "Absolom Day of N J, was born Apr 7, 1773, came with his parents, Jeremiah and Sarah (Dod) Day to O in 1796. Absolom Day d 2-17-1839, ae 65y 10m 10d; and is buried in an old cem at Crosstown, near Williamsburg, O. He m Elizabeth Earhart, b Chester Co, Pa (5-30-1776, d 9-4-1843). Soldr's parents were Daniel and Mary Day of "Mendum", Morris Co, N J. Will proved, 1760, N J. Daniel and Mary's children were: Benjamin, Samuel, Desire, Timothy, Daniel, Zekiel, Artemus, Nehemiah, Jeremiah and Marcy. Last five were under age in 1760. Ref: N J Wills, Vol 3, p 88. 59th N S D A R Report.
Apparently, Jeremiah had previously only had a field stone and as of 2008 has a veteran marker with the following:
