Temperance married James Hayden Thompson (1798-1861) about 1832 in Maryland. They were the parents of 10 children:

1. Priscilla Catherine Thompson-Dickinson, born in Maryland in 1833. Her husband was remarried in 1857.

2. Mary Jane Thompson-Coen b 1834, Maryland d. McDonough County, Illinois

3. William Thompson b. 1839 Delaware County, Ohio d. 1864 Memphis, Tenn

4. Hannah Ann Thompson b. 1841 Indiana

Temperance Ann Perry and James Hayden Thompson were married in Skippack, Montgomery county, Pennsylvania in 1830. The father of Temperance Ann was Reverend William Perry. Her mother had the last name of "Jackson who was from the same family that gave our nation a president" according to the obituary of her sister Hannah Cross Perry Black who died in Mendota, Illinois in 1911.

From Biographical and Historical Record of Greene and Carroll Counties, Iowa 1887 - George W Thompson ...His parents were James H and Ann Thompson, the father dying when George was 11 years of age after the family had removed to Hancock Co, IL. The family remained in that county until 1865, when they removed to LaSalle Co, same state. In 1874 George W Came to Greene County and purchased a farm in Franklin Township and in 1879 the family settled upon that farm.

James H Thompson and wife had 10 children, only two of whom are living - Mrs Elizabeth Giddons and our subject. The mother died March 14, 1886 at the house of her son George. One of the sons was a soldier in the war of the Rebellion, being a member of the 119th IL. He died at Memphis in the spring of 1864. ...
