The funeral service for Mrs. Dimple Thornton will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2006, at Elkins East Chapel, with Brother James Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in Harvey Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Elkins East Chapel, Center Star, is assisting the family.
Mrs. Thornton attended Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Neely and Mary Watson; husband, Billy Almon Thornton; grandson, Clay Thornton; sister, Helen Glover; and brother, Benny Watson.
She is survived by her sons, Billy A. Thornton and Byron J. Thornton and wife, Carol; grandchildren, Christopher Thornton and wife, Shelly, Elizabeth Thornton, David Thornton, Kelli Thornton, Cathleen Thornton and Lindsey Thornton; great-grandchildren, Ryan Parker Thornton, Sean Patrick Thornton and William Thomas Thornton; brothers and sisters, Carlene Kelly, Londale Twitty, James Watson, Jo Green, Monty Watson, Mickey Watson and Gwen Jones.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Watson, Michael Watson, Christopher Thornton, David Thornton, Aaron Jones and Matthew Lester.
