George G. Priest

George G. Preist, 71, retired cabinetmaker, died today at 3:40 a.m. in the home, 154 Jefferson, street, of a heart ailment. He had been seriously ill less than a week.

Born Nov. 23, 1872 in Licking county, he was the son of Presley and Lucy J. Priest. His wife, Mrs. Minnie Mae Priest, preceded him in death Sept. 23, 1941, and he leaves four children: Sgt. Gerald G. Priest, U. S. army, Fletcher hospital, Cambridge; Lawrence D. Priest of Newark, Willard R. Priest of Newark, and Martha Jane Priest of the home; five brothers and trhee sisters: Frederick K. Priest of Marne, Arthur of Newark, Clarence of Marne, Benjamin H. and Leroy Priest of Bakersville, Calif.; Mrs. Grace Anderson of Marne, Mrs. Bessie Martin of Swans road, and Mrs. Ollie M. Bryant of Fredonia, also five grandchildren. A brother Everett and a sister mrs. Goldie Pigg are deceased. Mr. Priest was a former employe of the Newark Furniture company.

The body is at Cross Brothers funeral home. Funeral arrangement have not been made.
