Mrs. Nettie R. Yale, 86, formerly of N. Main St., a former Herkimer town tax collector, died Sunday in Allegan, Michigan.
She was born March 23, 1886, in the Town of Wilmurt, the daughter of John M. and Emily Maheux Richad [Richard]. She was married to C. LeRoy Yale on Oct. 10, 1908, in Herkimer. Mr. Yale died July 12, 1935.
Mrs. Yale had been a receiver of taxes for the Town of Herkimer until her retirement in 1954. Since May of 1971 she had been residing with her daughter in Arizona and her son in Michigan.
Mrs. Yale was a member of the Congregational-Universalist Church here, and its AUW.
She leaves a son, Richard, of Allegan and a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Ruth) Skeels, Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Mrs. James (Margaret) Stevens, Beaumont, Tex., Mrs. William (Barbara) Miller, Monroeville, Pa., and Susan Yale, Detroit, Mich.; and two great-grandchildren. A daughter, Emily, died Feb. 8, 1966.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from the Fenner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Henry Opperman, pastor of the Congregational-Universalist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Dibble-Tuttle Cemetery, Salisbury Center. Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
