"In Memoriam"

This vicinity was shocked Thursday when it was learned that Mrs. Jacob Taha had passed away at 4:30 that morning, following a weeks illness She was seriously ill for several days with asthma and la grippe, but for a couple of days before the end came, it was thought her condition was improving satisfactorily, although she was very weak. Just a half hour before she passed away, she asked members of the family, who were caring for her during the night, to give her a drink, and spoke several other words to them. After she had drunk, she became quiet, but in a few minutes it was found she had passed to eternal sleep. All her children were near her during her illness, caring for her, but all the loving care was of no avail, death being the victor. Her life had gone peacefully, without struggle.

In the passing of Mrs. Taha, the family has lost a devoted wife and mother and grandmother. The neighborhood gave up a good friend and neighbor who was always willing to lend a helping hand in sickness or in time of need.

Anna Kosar was born in Bohemia, February 23, 1863 and passed this life October 14, 1926, aged 63 years, 7 months, and 21 days. When a young girl she came to America with her parents, locating near Williamson, Iowa. On February 22, 1881 she was united to Jacob Taha, who survives her. Ten children were born to this union. One child died in its infancy. The surviving children are: Edward of this vicinity; John, of Omaha; Mrs. Mary Bartlett, of Omaha; Mrs. Caroline Bartlett, of Omaha; William of this vicinity; Mrs. Ella Hlavka, of Omaha; Frank and Joe at home; and George of this vicinity.

Mrs. Taha will be greatly missed by ten grandchildren: Gladys and Kenneth Bartlett; Lloyd, Anna, Margaret, and Ruth Hlavka; and Frances Taha of Omaha; Irene and Laurine Taha; and Anne Margaret and Burdette Taha of this vicinity. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Kosar Sr., one sister, Mary Kosar, and one brother, Frank Kosar. The surviving brothers are John Kosar of Williamson; James Kosar of Nevinville; and Joseph Kosar of Walcott, Wyoming.

Funeral services were held at the home Saturday at 1:00 o'clock, under the auspices of the Z. C. B. J. lodge of which she was a member. The body was then take to the Z. C. B. J. hall at Williamson where furhter services were held by the lodge in both the Bohemian and English languages. Stanislaw Serpan, of Omaha, spoke words of consolation to the bereaved family, and a choir from Carl furnished appropriate music. Interment was made at the Bohemian National Cemetery.

The entire community sympathizes with the bereaved family in the loss of one who though gone in body will always remain with them in loving memory.

The floral offerings were many and beautiful, showing in what high esteem she was held by all as well as by the large number of people, old and young, from far and near, who came to pay her their last respects. May the memory of her kindness be an inspiration to all who knew her.
