Thelma Jean (Coats) Ferbert, 89, of St. Joseph, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at a local health-care center.
Mrs. Ferbert was born on Nov. 24, 1918, in Holt County, Mo., to Levi B. and Anna Mary (Noland) Coats.

She worked as a salesperson for Memorial Park Cemetery and as a realtor. She also worked as an apartment manager while she lived in California.

In 1936, she married George J. Ferbert. They were later divorced. Thelma was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth David Ferbert; her parents; four brothers; a sister; four half brothers and a half sister.

Service: 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph.

Visitation: begins after 9 a.m. Friday, at the funeral chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Cremation will follow the service, with inurnment at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
