I've learned recently (April 10, 2014) that Walter Bennett has a photo in "A History of West, Texas" and is listed in "Notable Persons in First Street Cemetery", in Waco, Texas.

Walter Wyatt Bennett married Mary Minerva Short on Oct. 10, 1847. Walter & Mary M. Bennett, with 3 children, 4 slaves and other possessions, moved from Christian Co., Kentucky to Bould Springs, McLennan Co., Texas about 1854-1856.

*(NOTE: Bould was later changed to Bold)

*ALSO NOTE: He may have first arrived in Fayette Co., Texas in 1855, before settling in McLennan Co., Texas.

THEIR CHILDREN:
* John Thomas Bennett, born in 1848 in Franklin, Tenn., first married Rebecca Conner (divorced in 1874), next married Ellie West in 1888 (she died), then married Ursula Hill in 1893, she died in 1932 in West, Tx.
* George Alice "Bennett" Radford (1851-1920)), born in Hopkinsville, Ky., she married William Radford.
* William W. Bennett (1853-1854)
* Judith Clara (Julia) "Bennett" Bellows (1856-___), she married Daniel C. Bellows.
* Ophelia Frances "Bennett" Robertson (1858-1888)) born in West, Texas, she married Oscar Clarence Robertson, she died in Seymore, Texas.
* Mary Walter (Molly) "Bennett" Callen (1860-1953), born in West, Texas, she married Socrates "Crat" Pulaski Callen in 1878, she died in 1953 and is buried in Condon Grove cemetery, Johnston Co., Okla.
