Mrs. Katherine Haas, 78, of 1628 S. Twelfth street, died Sunday morning at St. Nicholas Hospital. A life-long resident of Sheboygan County, she was born June 16, 1872, in the Town of Wilson, the daughter of Jacob and Gertrude Ardts. She attended school at St. George. On Sept. 2, 1890, she was married to John Haas at St. George. The couple came to Sheboygan shortly after their marriage and made their home here since. Since January, Mrs. Haas resided at the Anna M. Reiss home. She was a member of St. Peter Claver church and the St. Ann's Christian Mothers' society of the parish. Survivors are two sons, Frank, St. Paul, Minn., and Edward, Sheboygan; two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Verona) Wittrock and Mrs. Andrew (Esther) Kasnig, Sheboygan; 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Sophia Weber. Her husband preceded her in death on July 5, 1947. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a. m. Wednesday at the Ramm Funeral home and at 9 a. m. at St. Peter Claver Church. The Rev. Robert M. Hoeller, pastor, will celebrate the requiem high mass. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
