Mrs. Mary Haas, 77. a resident of this community [Neillsville] for the past 36 years, died Sunday morning at the Neillsville Hospital where she had been a patient for the past few weeks. She has been in poor health for several years. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning, with Rev. J. A. Biegler officiating, and burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Haas, the former Mary Ardtz was born in Sheboygan County March 7, 1864, and was married in the Town of Wilson, in the same county, to Lawrence Haas about 56 years ago. She had been a member of the Christian Mother's Society for nearly 40 years. Her husband preceded her in death a number of years ago. Surviving are nine children, Sister M. Margaret Laurine. Lacrosse; Jake, Neillsville; Mrs. J. C. (Katherine) Wheeler, St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Ernest (Marie) Bieneck, Neillsville; Martin, Withee; Bernard, Neillsville; Allie. Jefferson; Mrs. Ed (Nellie) Johannsen, South Milwaukee, and Joseph, Neillsville. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. John Haas and Mrs. Nick Weber, Sheboygan, and 23 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
