Funeral services were held from a local funeral home Thursday for Dick F. Baden, 80, a pioneer farmer of the Tatman Gulch area, who died Tuesday, at the family farm home. The Rev. Ronald Yates of the Christian Church conducted the services. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
Baden was born at Hanover, Germany, and came to America when 15, living most of his life in Garfield County. He was married to Lorena Bentley, Nov. 23, 1902. The couple farmed many years in both Linville and Tatman bulches. Baden was one of the charter members of the Pleasant Grove Grange, and a lifelong member of the Lutheran church. He is survived by his wife, Lorena, and a son, Chris, both at the home; a daughter, Mrs. Justin Fitzgerald; a brother, Bill; two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, all of Pomeroy.
