Joseph M. Greenland 1931 ~ 2007 Our wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grand-father and friend, Joseph M (Joe) Greenland returned to his Father in Heaven April 15, 2007. Joe was born October 19, 1931 to Clarence Greenland and Maud (Miller) Greenland in Highland, Utah. He served stateside in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged with the rank of staff sergeant. He married the love of his life, Dixie LaRue Anderson on July 26, 1954 in the Manti Temple. They were blessed with three children, to whom he was always a gentle, caring father, and a perfect example of dedication and servitude to the Lord. His family will deeply miss his humor, love and guidance. Joe's chosen career was accounting, where he acquired skills that he used not only for work, but to serve his Heavenly Father in various ward and stake clerk callings throughout his life. He served faithfully in many other callings as well, including as a counselor in the bishopric, a temple worker, an extractor and a service missionary. He enjoyed gardening and yard care, and often received compliments on his beautiful yard. He was one of the first to help his neighbors when they were in need, a gift that has been reciprocated many times over in the past few weeks. Joseph is survived by his wife, LaRue and his children, Scott (Elaine), Brent (Lucia) and Julie (David) Hall; brothers Merrill (Florence), Richard, Leonard (Linda) and Charles (Miriam), and by his sisters Florence (Floss) White and Maxine Duncan. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, two step-grand-children and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Helen, Irene Charlesworth and Mildred, his brother, Kenneth, and his grand-daughter Kelsey. His family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all those who helped make things easier for them over the last 3 1/2 weeks. The countless thoughts, prayers and deeds of friends, neighbors and family members were an immense comfort during this difficult time. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oakhills Ward, located at 455 S. 1200 East, Bountiful. Friends and family may call at the same location Thursday evening, April 19, from 6:00 to 8:00 or Friday morning from 10:00 to 10:30. Interment will take place at the Lakeview Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.memorialutah.com
