Harry E. Adams, 82, of 316 S. Wayne St., died at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Van Wert Manor on Fox Road. He had been seriously ill for four months.
Born Jan. 28, 1889, in Van Wert, he was a son of David and Cinderella (Utter) Adams . He married Dora Whitcraft on May 12, 1912. She survives.
Mr. Adams was a superintendant of the DWG Cigar Plant for 30 years and then prior to his retirement he had been with the Kennedy Kit for 16 years.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Van Wert Franternal Order of Eagles.
Also surviving are a daughter Mrs. Richard (Rosalie) Gamble of 516 E. Central Ave; three sons, Karl E. of 311 W. Jackson St.; Wilbur (Peck) of 827 Elson Ave.; and Harry Jr. of Three Rivers, Mich.; a brother Clarence Adams of Norwalk, Calif; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Thatcher of Chicago; a half-sister, Mrs. Paul (Hilda) Blank of Hemet, Calif; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Alspach Funeral Home, the Rev. Edward D. Brandeberry (sic) to officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
