Services are 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, at Parker Funeral Service with the Rev. Rod Davis officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at the funeral home.
Mr. Anderton was born Jan. 2, 1915, in Boone County to John Anderton and Emma Hargis Anderton. On Dec. 5, 1964, he married Florence Lewis, and she survives.
Mr. Anderton had lived in Central Missouri all his life. He was an ironworker and a member of the Iron Workers Local No. 396, having worked on bridges andat missile bases. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served aboard the USS Idaho during the signing of the peace treaty after the war. He was also a member of VFW Post 280.
Survivors include four sons, Raymond Anderton of Hallsville, Ronald Anderton of Hutchison, Kan., Wayne Anderton of Hallsville and Raymond Grams of
Steelville; three daughters, Sharon Love of Jefferson City, Phyllis Orman of Boonville and Laura Hill of Auxvasse; a brother, Bobby Anderton of Kansas City; two sisters, Betty Sapp of Petersberg, Ind., and Ruby Roberts of
Columbia; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
