Marsha Harris Hernanz, 89, was born on May 2, 1922 in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully June 24th, 2011 in Colorado Springs. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Marsha had a magnetic personality and greeted everyone as if she knew them all her life. She introduced herself in the Harris Linen Shop as "Manitou Marsh." She was part of the Harris Linen Shop in Manitou Springs for 50+ years of her life. She loved being in the store, greeting people from near and far. Marsha preached to her nieces and nephews over the years to stay away from C.A.T. (Caffeine, Alcohol, Tobacco). Marsha was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Hernanz Jr. on June 4, 2009, her mother and father, Frederick A. Harris and Nazera F. Harris, a sister, Najla Boutross and brothers, Mitchell, Albert and Edward Harris, owner of the Harris Linen Shop, who passed away December 5, 2010. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Lillian and Marguerite Harris and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 2nd, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2030 West Colorado Blvd. in Colorado Springs. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Colorado Springs. The family wishes to thank Jennifer Kipp, Marsha's "angel" for the care she so willingly gave her the past few years. Jennifer was like a daughter to Marsha and a relative to the Harris family. The family would also like to thank Evercare Hospice for making her last days comfortable.
