GILLIS S.CARMON DIES; RITES SET TODAY IN STAMFORD

Gillis Sterling Carmon, 53, of 2165 Oakland in Abilene, died at 3 p.m. in the veterans hospital at Big Springs where he had been a patient eight weeks.

Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Kinney Funeral Home Chapel in Stamford. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery there. The Rev. Wilson Estes, pastor of Bethel Temple Assembly of God Church in Abilene, will officate.

Born August 6, 1910 in Eastland County, Mr. Carmon was a carpenter. He married Lillian Hanson in Stamford in 1932, (added: daughter of John and Lillian Maybelle Coe-Hanson.) He was a veteran of World War 11. They moved to Abilene two years ago from Stamford.

Survivors, are his daughter, Mrs. D.J. Hardaway (Added: Wanda Faye) of Lovington, N.M.; two sons, Sterling L. of 3682 Ambler and Glenn of the home; his mother, Mrs. Lillie Carmon of Stamford; two sistrs, Mrs. F. E. Mapes of Lorenzo and Mrs. W.C. Nesmith of Abilene; two brothers, James of Stamford and Foy M. of Irving; and four grandchildren.

Elliott's Funeral Home has charge of Abilene arrangements.
