Mrs. Martha Rachel Truslow, 95, died at 12:40 p.m. Saturday at her home in Sherando. Mrs. Truslow had been confined to her bed since breaking a hip in 1955.Born Dec. 8, 1861, in Nelson County, Mrs. Truslow was a daughter of the late John and Nancy Lee Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband, John James Truslow, in 1929.Mrs. Truslow moved from Nelson County to Augusta County in 1911. She retained her membership in the Beech Grove Christian Church but after moving to Sherando had been an active worker in the Sherando Methodist Church until she sustained the hip injury in 1955. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. M. D. Coiner, Waynesboro; Mrs. B. G. Fitzgerald, Sr. and Mrs. W. A. Thomas, both of Stuarts Draft; and Miss Gladys Truslow, at home; three sons, Odell Truslow and Oakley Truslow, both of Newport News; and Brainard Truslow, Roanoke; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Truslow was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. M. D. Tomes, in 1949. Funeral service was to be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the Chapel of the Etter Funeral Home by the Rev. Carl Bodie, assisted by the Rev. J. D. Farries. Interment was to be in Riverview Cemetery. Active pallbearers were to be grandsons, B. G. Fitzgerald Jr., Windom Fitzgerald, Chester Fitzgerald, Grover Tomes, Donald Hall and Hubert Truslow. Honorary pallbearers were to be Clarence Owens, Frank Thornton Jr., Earl Zimmerman, Sidney Shirley, Robert Arey, E. O. Davies, Clarence Carey, Dr. B. K. Weems, Lee Patterson, H. C. Loving, Glenn Balsley, Worthy Thompson, Martin Wheeler, W. A. Harman, Elwood Hyden, Richard Truslow and Hoy Truslow.
