HAYS — Edward Francis Rupp, 73, Hays, died Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at Hays Medical Center. Mr. Rupp was born Dec. 1, 1923, at Victoria. He owned and operated a service station and was a member of St; Nicholas Catholic Church, Hays, Knights of Columbus and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
A son, Wayne, died in 1962.
Survivors include his wife, Louise of the home; three sons, Jack of Osborne, Idaho, Lance and Duane, both of Garden City; two daughters, Dee Rupp of Garden City and Tammy Deterding of Hays; a brother, Linus of Bushton; six sisters, Irene Hoff of Russell, Leona Dreiling of Las Vegas, Nev., Olinda Schantz of Colorado Springs, Colo., Sally Sullivan of Garden City, Alice Wasinger of Hutchinson and Tina Rome of Hays; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Hays, the Rev. Don Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. A vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Hays Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be made to the nursing staff at Hays Medical Center, 2220 Canterbury. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at the chapel, 20th and Pine, Hays 67601.
