Clarence J. Rupp
Clarence J. Rupp, 80, Hays, died Monday, July 11, 1994, at the Hays Medical Center, St. Anthony Campus. He was born Feb. 16, 1914, in Victoria to John and Katherine (Schmidtberger) Rupp.
He married Ida Weber on July 28, 1936, in Victoria. She died Oct. 22, 1962.
He married Matilda Wessel on Aug. 13, 1970, in Hays.
He retired from the DX Corporation and was a part-time greenskeeper at the Smoky Hill Country Club. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the Eagles Lodge, Hays.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Leon, Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Darlene Dechant, Tucson;
two brothers, Edward, Hays, and Linus, Bushton; six sisters, Irene Hoff, Russell, Leona Dreiling, Las Vegas, Olinda Schantz, Colorado Springs, Colo., Sally Sullivan, Garden City, Alice Wasinger, Hutchinson, and Tina Rome, Hays; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Arlen, in 1945; two brothers, Danny and Elmer; and two sisters, Albertina Rupp and Albina Rupp.
Services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, with Father Don Zimmerman officiating; burial in the St Joseph Cemetery. A parish vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hays Memorial Chapel, 20th and Pine. Visiting hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, and from 8:30 a.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Rupp, 80, Hays, have been changed to 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 2901 East 13th, with Father Don Zimmerman officiating; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visiting hours are until 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Hays Memorial Chapel, 20th and Pine.
Mr. Rupp died Monday, July 11, 1994, at the Hays Medical Center, St. Anthony Campus.
Additional survivors include three stepsons, John Stramel, James Stramel and Cliff Stramel; a step-daughter, Mary Stramel Stefan; seven step-grandchildren; and numerous step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, William Stamel.
