Longtime Maud homemaker Daisy Hudson Ryan died Saturday at a Grove nursing home after a long illness. She was 81. Mrs. Ryan was born April 2, 1916 in Catalpa, Arkansas to James Harvey and Mary Estep Hudson.

She moved to Maud as a child and married Sanford Ryan on July 19, 1930 in Wewoka. They resided in Maud until 1979 when they moved to Tulsa to be near their children.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Dean Donahue and Bernice and Ray Moore, all of Grove and Betty and Billy Horn of Waxahachie, Texas, a son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Reed and Sandi Ryan of Catoosa, seven grandchildren, Christina Moore of Tulsa, Denise Ryan Dean of St. Louis, Oklahoma, Jennifer Linn of Fort Worth, Texas, Leasa Butler of Houston, Texas, Mikel Donahue of Broken Arrow, Richard Donahue of Tulsa and Stephen Ryan of Catoosa, nine great-grandchildren, two sisters, Elva Hart of Moore and Ann Renfro of Maud, a brother, James Hudson of Maud and several other relatives and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Sanford in May 1986, a son, J. A. Ryan in August 1972, a grandson, Denton Ryan in December 1996 and a brother, Faye Hudson.

Services 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud. Burial will be at Cummings Cemetery in Maud under the direction of Knight Funeral Home in Maud.
