SOUTH BEND-Louis Barone, 71, of East LaSalle Avenue, died at 8:40 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19 at St. Joseph's Medical Center.
Louis was born in Clinton Ind., on Nov. 6, 1925, and had lived in this area most of his life.
On Dec. 26, 1952 in South Bend, Ind., he married the former Alberta Jean Daly, who survives. Louis is also survived by his daughters, Kathy Barone of South Bend, Nancy (Ernest) Galos of South Bend; and by his son, David Barone of South Bend. Louis is also survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Filchak of Mishawsaka, IN., and Rose Bella of South Bend; and by a cousin, Edith Manak of South Bend.
He retired in 1987 from A.M. General as purchasing manager. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Louis received a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University, South Bend. He was a member of the first graduating class.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawsaka.
Funeral services will be at noon on Tuesday in the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Ervin Mize. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Diabetes Assocation.
