DIED.
At Johnson, Kane Co, Feb. 7th, 1876, after an illness of nearly two years. EDITHA MELISSA, wife of Sixtus E. Johnson, and daughter of Justin and Lonving Merrill.
Sister Johnson was born at Detroit, Mich., July 10th, 1833. When but a child her parents moved to Hancock Co., Illinois, where they were baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1839 she lived at Nauvoo, during the troubles of the Saints, and went with them to the west; arrived in Salt Lake valley in 1849, where she was married to S. E. Johnson: Aug. 3d, 1851, went with him to Iron Co., passed through the troubles and privations of a frontier life for many years; was a faithful Saint, a kind mother, and has left many kind friends. - [Com.
