Mrs. Florence May Jones Wells, 93, died Thursday, April 20, 1985 in Pascagoula. Born April 18,1902 in Orange Grove, Miss., she had been a lifelong resident of the area. Mrs. Wells was a charter member of Kreole United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Riley Eugene Wells; and a daughter, Gwendolyn Frances Wells.
Survivors include two daughters and one son in law, Maomi Wells Gibson, Brownsville, Texas, Ruby Wells and Kell Canty, Pascagoula; son and daughter-in-law, Everett E. "Buddy" and Carolyn Wells, Kreole; 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Friday, April 21 from 6-9 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 22, at 3 p.m. at Kreole United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roy Barlow and Bro. Hollis Howell officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service time.
Interment will be in Orange Grove Cemetery.
