On the 1850 District 2 1/2, Augusta Co., Va census, I found farmer Adam McChesney, 42 and Rachael McChesney, 35, both VA born. Rachel would died 3 years later.
1853: Died- On Sept. 1, on South River, Augusta County, Mrs. Rachael McChesney, wife of Capt. Adam McChesney, in her 40th year leaving her husband- from the 23 Sep 1853 issue of the Staunton Speaker. (p. 1, c. 5). Bernard John Henley. Library of Virginia.
According to John Alpheus Willson's undated bio, he was a grandson of Samuel Willson and Miss Tate and had children: John, Robert, Mary, Rachel, Rebecca, Sallie, Estaline, James and Samuel. Historical and Biographical Record of Southern California, by James Miller Guinn, year unlisted, pp 329-330 (see photo). John was the son of John and Jane E Weir Willson. Verify.
Note: Another, Adam McChesney, died 1811 in Augusta Co., and left a will, with daughter Jane Elizabeth McChesney. It was not this immediate family.
