Peter was born July 9, 1873 in Karolswalde, Russia to Johann and Ann Dirks. Peter was with his parents when they left Karolswalde, Russia in late 1874 via Hamburg, Germany and sailed from Liverpool, England to America. They arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 28, 1875 on the SS Illinois. Peter's sister Susanna was born a couple of days before their arrival in America. Their father Johann was not a well man and passed away the following year in 1876 at the young age of 27, leaving his wife with two small children. Peter grew up and later married Anna Heyser and remained in the Lansdale, Pennsylvania area. He passed away Feb. 22, 1925 at Lansdale, Pennsylvania.
