Homer Leroy Sloop, 73, passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003 in Corpus Christi. He was born June 13, 1930 in Boyle Station, KS to Homer and Rose Sloop. He had been a resident of the Lamar community since 1976. He was an active member of the Lamar Volunteer Fire Department for many years.Sloop was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Sandra Sloop of Rockport; two daughters, Cindy Lee Clinkinbeard (Michael) Hall of Topeka, KS and Sandra Kay Sloop (Enrique) Penaloza of Lawrence, KS and their mother, Wilma Sloop of Winchester, KS; mother-in-law, Keren Dotson of Rockport; two brothers, John Sloop of Winchester, KS and Ed Sloop of Meriden, KS; two sisters, Florence Larkin of Leavenworth, KS and Elizabeth Freeman of Winchester, KS; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 10 at Lamar Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, United Methodist Church, Winchester, KS.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Lung Association of Texas, P.O. Box 26460, Austin, TX 78775-0460 or to Shoenstatt Lamar - Sisters of Mary, 130 Front Street,
