Wilma Jean Sloop, 87, of Winchester, KS, died Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at F.W. Huston Senior Living Center in Winchester. She was born February 5, 1932 at Winchester, the daughter of William E. “Bill” and Ethel Mae Trower Moon. She was a 1950 graduate of Winchester High School. Wilma worked over 25 years in the Jefferson County Clerk’s office, retiring in 1997. She was a member of Winchester New Testament Christian Church. She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Hall, Topeka, Sandra K. “Sandy” Sloop (Enrique Penaloza), Lawrence, a sister, Barbara Pence, Topeka, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Service will be 1:30 PM, Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Winchester New Testament Christian Church. Visitation Gathering will be 12:30 to 1:30 PM, Sunday, an hour prior to service at the Church. Burial will follow at Winchester-Wise Cemetery. Memorial contributions suggested to Jefferson County Friends of Hospice or Winchester New Testament Christian Church in care of Barnett Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 602, Oskaloosa, KS, 66066.
