Winnie Young Fontenot Lanclos
August 22, 1927 - June 1, 2009

EUNICE-A wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Winnie Fontenot Lanclos will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Winnie died on Monday, June 01, 2009 at the age of 81. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 04, 2009 at 2:00 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice with burial to follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Father Tom Voorhies officiating.

The things that brought Winnie the most joy to her life were being with her family and friends, playing cards, traveling, cooking, and being a "Pink Lady" Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer and she belonged to the Catholic Daughters of America. She will be greatly missed by her many family and friends. She touched the heart and soul of everyone she met.

Left behind to cherish her memories are her two sons, Hugh Gordon Fontenot and his wife, Pam of St. Amant, Warren Fontenot of Walker; her three daughters, Linda Sue Langley of Conroe, TX, Jean Vige and her husband, Bruce of Eunice, and Janet Duhon of Scott; her one sister, Marie Calliouet and her husband, Howard of Navasoto, TX; her eleven grandchildren and her eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Gertrude Klein Young, Sr.; her husbands, Hugh Fontenot, Sr. and Elvie Lanclos; her son, David Fontenot; and her brother, Marvin Young, Jr.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, June 03, 2009 from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm and again on Thursday, June 04, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited by the Catholic Daughters at 5:30 pm Wednesday evening.
