Gertrude Swink, 65, of DeKalb, died Monday, June 19th, 2006 at her home.
Gertrude was born August 25th, 1940, in Oak Grove, Texas to John and Cleo Marie Batchelor.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Marshal "Papa John" McCuller, in 1976, her son, John Cecil Swink, in 1995, her brother, James Marshal McCuller, in 2003, her sister, Jova Nell McCuller Farrar, in 1998 and one niece, Marcella Ann Wortham.
Survivors include her loving husband, Douglas Dale Swink of Dekalb, two sons; Douglas Dale Swink II of Dekalb and Boyd Ray "Bubba" Swink of Harlingen, Texas, two daughters; Veronica Sue Holt and Rhonda Karen Derrick of Maud, Texas, her mother; Cleo Marie McCuller of Buchanan, Texas, her brother and sister in-law; Virgil and Freda McCuller of Pampa, Texas; two sisters and brother in-laws; Ella Lodainer Wortham of Savoy, Texas and Joyce Wyvonne and Fred Tull of Burnet, Texas, uncle and aunts; Ray and Alline Batchelor of DeKalb, Texas, and Faye Trimm of Avery, Texas, one special friend; Juanita Hall, 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Bates-Rolf Funeral Home in DeKalb, Texas with Herschel Strickland officiating. Burial followed at the Woodmen Cemetery.
