Ella Lodainer Wortham, a life-long resident of Howe, TX, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at the age of 84, in Van Alstyne, TX with sister, daughter, and grandchildren at bedside.

Ella is the daughter of John & Cleo McCuller, was born on November 24, 1936, in Ogden, Arkansas. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing, and attending family gatherings. She was a secretary for Petty Ray Geophysical. She often traveled with the oil companies alongside her husband, Earnest. She attended Paris Junior College with numerous education awards from 1991-1993 for Nursing Home Training. She was certified as a nursing assistant healthcare worker, medical asepsis, death and dying, restraints and alternatives, range of motion and transferring, and special needs of the elderly with the aging process. Ella retired from Whitewright Nursing Home.

Ella is survived by her children, Debra Hurley, Kay Drake, Sandra Hammond, grandchildren, Chris, Cody, Corey, Jessie, Lodainer "Deenee", Alysia, Leslie, Kevin, Thomas, Angela, and Ashlee, numerous great grandchildren, sister, Joyce Tull, special friend, T.C. Burks, numerous nieces, and nephews.

Ella was proceeded in death by both parents, John and Cleo McCuller, husband, Earnest Wortham, daughter, Marcella, son, Earnest Wortham, Jr., siblings, Jova Nell Farrar, Virgil McCuller, Gertrude Swink & James McCuller.

The family viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, September 15, 2021, from 10am-11am preceding the funeral service scheduled for 11am-12pm at the Scoggins Funeral Home on West Van Alstyne Parkway in Van Alstyne, TX. Jodie McCuller will officiate. Ella will be placed alongside her husband, Earnest Wortham, with burial following the service from 12pm-1pm at Vittitoe Cemetery in Whitewright, TX.
