WILLIAM C. CLURE

Funeral services were held July 19 at Watt's Memorial Chapel for William C. Clure, 69, who died July 15. Rev. Wesley Mitchell officiated. A. B. Eddington was in charge of music and Billy D. Sullivan and Max Tatum were in charge of the Masonic service. Interment was in Green Hill Cemetery with arrangements by Watts Funeral Home of Madill. Casket escorts were William Calvin Clure Jr., Glenn Ray Clure, William Calvin Clure, Glenn Ray Clure Jr., Kevin Mays Clure and Lee White.

William Calvin Clure was born Nov. 24, 1924 at Joy. He was the son of the late William Jasper and Mary Ada Clure, and was reared and attended school at Joy. He served as a radar technician in the Army Air Force during World War II. He married Nadine Howard on Dec. 27, 1946 in Tulsa. He worked as an electronics engineer in Oklahoma City, retiring in 1975 and moving to Cumberland. He was a member of the Cumberland Baptist Church and the Creekmore Masonic Lodge #74 in Madill.

Survivors include his wife, Nadine, of the home; two sons, William Calvin Clure II, Midwest City, and Glenn Ray Clure, Guthrie; four grandchildren, William Calvin Clure III, Edmond, Glenn Ray Clure Jr., Guthrie and Jennifer Hope Clure and Kevin Mayes Clure, Oklahoma City; a brother, Norvell Clure, Wynnewood; three sisters, Olivia Whisenhunt, Cumberland, Ada Beth England, Claremore and Anna Belle Williams, Stillwater.
