The son of William & Freelove (Arnold) Adams, he was confirmed on December 31, 1764 by Rev. Rogers. He married (1) Huldah Sphepard, daughter of John & Rebecca Shepherd, at the First Church of Hartford on July 4, 1765, and (2) Sarah Tiley, daughter of William & Sarah (Mygatt) Tiley, on February 11, 1767 at First Church of Hartford. He was the parent of at least six children who died at 19 years and younger and are buried in this cemetery.
