MATHEWS - George W. Fitchett, 61, died Sunday at his home at Port Haywood. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Virginia Pugh Fitchett; one son, Arthur R. Fitchett, of Port Haywood, and one granddaughter, Miss Virginia Lee Fitchett; and one sister, Mrs. L. W. Hall, of Hampton.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Methodist Church near Susan, conducted by Rev. W. W. Beasley. Interment was in St. Paul's Annex cemetery.
Mr. Fitchett was a member of Junior O.U.A.M. at Mathews.
Pallbearers were: Frank Pugh, Ernest Woodson, Harvey hudgins, Weldon Stewart, Alton Smith, Carl Shackelford, and Andrew Hudgins.
