Meredith and Keziah moved from Alabama to Ellis County Texas prior to 1875. In 1899 he begins to appear on the tax rolls of Concho County Texas where he farmed until sometime in the 1920s. In 1930 he was lving with his daughter Nancy Jane Murphree in Knox County Texas.
