ALCORN, Antha, age 83 years and 6 days, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2005 in Lexington, Kentucky. Whitley City First Baptist Church with Bro. Ronald Davis officiating. Burial followed in the McCreary Memorial Gardens.She was born January 20, 1922 in Bell County, Kentucky to Arsbur Perry and Myra Hatmaker Perry. Antha came to McCreary County in 1939 from Laurel County. She graduated from McCreary County High School in 1940 and after graduation she worked for Renfro and Georgia Lovett at the Dime Store. Antha married William Alcorn on April 12, 1942 and they moved to Norfolk, Virginia. In 1946 they returned to McCreary County and operated their own business, Alcorn's Radio, TV, and Appliances until their retirement. She was a member of the Whitley City First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, training union, and G.A.'s for many years.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, William Edwin Alcorn, a sister, Omega Sutton, a grandson, Jason Alcorn. Survivors include two sons, Roger Alcorn and his wife, Marilyn, of Land O Lakes, Florida, and Stan Alcorn, of Whitley City, Kentucky, two brothers, James W. "Jay" Perry and his wife, Norma, of Whitley City, Kentucky, and Augustus "Gus" Perry and his wife, Dean, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and a grandson, John W. Alcorn and his wife, Rebecca, and a special little friend, Holly Singleton.
