Mr. William Dozier Luke, widower of Mrs. Savannah Elizabeth Moody Luke, of Belair Drive, Evans, Georgia, entered into rest Wednesday, May 20, 1987 at Evans Health Care. The funeral will be held Friday, May 22, 1987 at 5:00 p.m. at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Olin Sizemore and Don Johnson officiating. Burial will at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ricky Luke, Stan Bartles, Cary Burks, Lamar Frost, Charlie Luke, Phil Luke, William B. Luke III and the Rev Jimmie Harris. Mr. Luke was a native of Richmond County and lived all of his life in the Augusta area. He was a retired carpenter for the civil service at Charleston Air Force Base, Charleston, S.C. He was a member and former deacon, Sunday School teacher, church treasurer and chairman of the Board of Trustees of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, William Dozier Luke Jr. and Danford L. Luke, Augusta, and Douglas Marvin Luke, Evans; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Dorothy Mae) Henry, Elizabethton, Tenn., and a brother, Marion Ivey Luke, Sanford, Fla. Elliott Sons.
