Mr. Thomas Watson Luke, of Route 1, Harlem, Georgia, entered into rest in an Augusta hospital Tuesday, October 11, 1966 after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Olin Sizemore officiating. Burial will be in Pierce Memorial Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Luke was a native of Augusta, but had lived near Harlem for the past four years. He was a son of the late Frank Elijah and Mary Virginia Reid Luke. He was a merchant and member of Mark's Baptist Church. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Leila Murphey Luke; a son, Thomas Harold Luke, Albany; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Gray, Grovetown, and Mrs. Leland Burt, Philadelphia, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Virginia Phillips, Augusta; three brothers, E.J. Luke, Augusta, W.D. Luke, Augusta and M.I. Luke, Del Ray Beach, Fla.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Homer Carpenter, M.E. Lowe, George Newman, H.C. Simons, Jimmy Maddox, Charles Brown. Prather Funeral Home.
