Mrs. Hannah E. Rountree Died Friday Morning.
Mrs. Hannah E. Rountree, nee Hildebrand, wife of William R. Rountree, died at her home four miles southwest of this city last Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock. She was born in this county March 12, 1855, being 52 years, 5 months and 18 days old at the time of her death.
On December 12, 1875 she was united in marriage to William R. Rountree. Nine children were born to them, eight of whom, Elmer H., Mrs. Ethel G. Helms, Mrs. Clara Kemps, Fred, Charles, Nettie, Ruth and Milo survive the mother. She is also survived by two brothers, Andrew Hilderbrand, of this city, and Howard Hilderbrand and one sister, Mrs. East, of California. Mrs. Rountree was a devoted Christian for twenty-seven years of her life and passed away in the triumph of a living faith. She held the true friendship and esteem of all and all extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved. The funeral services were held at Locust Creek Church, Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Culver of the M.E. church of this city, assisted by Rev. Jackson, pastor of the U.P. church of Oakdale. Interment was made at the Locust cemetery.
