Esther Margaret Blickenstaff, 101, died at Washoe Medical Center in Reno, Nev., on Sept' 12, 2002. Esther was born on Dec. 31, 1900. She had been a resident of Lassen County for the past 73 years. She lived on the family ranch in Janesville during that time.

She was a Grange member in Janesville, a founding leader of the Lake 4-H and treasurer for the Lassen County Federal Credit Union. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, fishing, playing the piano and being outdoors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Art; sons, Clarence and Glenn; and one grandson.

Esther is survived by her three sons, Robert Blickenstaff of Corning, Donald Blickenstaff of Janesville, and Alvin Blickenstaff of Janesville; thirteen grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, make donations to the American Cancer Society.
