"G Arthur Blickenstaff, 91, died Oct 7, 1992 at his residence in Janesville. He was born Nov. 8, 1900 in Pomona, Kan. He moved with his parents to Modesto in 1919, then returned to Kansas to in 1920 marry Esther Parks on Nov. 9.

Art and Esther moved back to Modesto, living there until 1926 when they homesteaded in Arizona. In 1929, they came to the Honey Lake Valley and bought a ranch in Janesville where Esther currently resides.

Art was active in the community for many years as a member of the Janesville Grange, Cattlemen's and Farm Bureau Association. He also served on the school board for Lake School, the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee, was a charter member of the Grange Credit Union and the Lassen County Rock Hounds. After retiring from farming, Art enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, rockhounding and lapidary work.

Survivors include his wife Esther of Janesville, sons Clarence of Boise, Idaho, Donald of Janesville, Robert of Chico and Alvin, who now farms the original ranch. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Art was preceded in death by a son Glen in 1951 and a grandson Daniel Levi in 1965.

Graveside services were held Oct. 9 at the Janesville Cemetery in Janesville. The family requests that memorial donations be made to a favorite charity in Art's memory."
